Harnessing Human Factors Data - Free AAvPA Workshop Canberra - 22 September 2017

The Australian Aviation Psychology Association (AAvPA) is pleased to host a free workshop on Harnessing Human Factors Data in high-risk industries such as aviation, maritime, rail, mining and defence.
The safety management system of an organisation in any high-risk industry is often described in terms of adopting a "data-driven" approach to managing risk. Data can take many forms, can be derived from many sources, and is used in a wide range of safety management processes. Data is not necessarily always useful in its raw form, and demands appropriate analysis in order to be used effectively as an indicator of performance, highlight areas of emerging risk, or be used to inform organisational decision-making processes. This workshop will showcase the experiences of a range of organisations in how they have harnessed human factors data to enhance safety performance.
Speakers include:
- Carolyn Vaughan - Qantas
- Gemma Read - University of the Sunshine Coast
- Warwick Norman - Rightship
